Evonik restructures Animal Nutrition business

Evonik has announced plans to transform its AnimalNutrition business to improve customer focus and competitiveness. As part ofthe transformation, the Amino Acids and Specialty Nutrition businesses will operateseparately. The specialty nutrition business with functional feed additives anddigital tools will be developed into a business with system solutions andspecialties for poultry, swine and ruminants.

The production setup for MetAMINO® (DL-Methionine) will beoptimized at its three global production hubs (Antwerp, Mobile, Singapore),which will lead to improved ecological footprints and annual cost savings of~EUR 200m from 2025. Around 200 jobs will be reduced worldwide.

Evonik has recently announced investments into MethylMercaptan (Methanethiol) in the U.S., Methyl Mercapto-Propionaldehyde (MMP) inGermany, and a +40'000 t/a Methionine expansion (new 340'000 t/a) andtechnological optimization in Singapore.
